Best route to secure accommodation
If you are homeless or have nowhere to stay tonight, please call the Peterborough City Council’s Housing Needs Service and speak to a member of the team, 01733 864064.
When you contact, try not to contact them near closing time. That way, the team will have plenty of time to help you as much as possible.
Their opening hours are Monday 9–5, Tuesday 9-5, Wednesday 11-5, Thursday 9-5, Friday 9-5.

Peterborough Scheme
The Housing Needs Team will aim to contact you within 3 working days. They are committed to preventing homelessness. They will be able to assess your needs and establish if they can support you with finding alternative accommodation.
If you are single and homeless and have nowhere else to stay. They will try and work with you to support you to access alternative accommodation. This is likely to be a room in a shared house or similar in the private rented sector.
